Never had anything of plastic that wanted to put wax on and the tractor has plastic fenders.

So the question is how to keep them nice and not scratched up. Understand the cleaning so not having sand and such as sandpaper on the finish like any other paint job, any other tips on what wax/ sealant or even if it is worth while. Wanted to clean it up some so can post some pics later after the storms come thru on thursday. I know it is a moot point but anyone have opinions on the durability of plastic vs steel fenders (with out creating a monster).

Believe it or not, furniture polish like Pledge works good. Keeps the plastic slick, and keeps mud from staining.

Are you sure they're plastic? Mine are fiberglass...

I think my owner's manual says that wax can be used. Although, I don't know why Pledge wouldn't work just fine, too...?

Likely wouldn't hold up nearly as long as a good auto wax, though.

Those 5000 series are made of "slightly" stronger materials...

Must say that I don't approach the handle on my plastic fender to lift myself onto the seat with the same "gusto" that I used to on my old metal fender tractor! Something about the flexing; makes me a bit more careful. Seems like I might just end up with the whole fender rippin' off the side of the tractor with one good pull!
