I want to add additional lights to the ROPS on my 3720 and would like to place the switch on the right side in place of one the rocker switch blanks. Does JD or any after market manufacturers make a weather proof switch that fits into the JD rocker switch inserts to control lighting?
Thanks in advance....Shooter

You could probably order replacement switches for some option or another through JD (if you can find one with the right combination of function and graphics for your purpose) but otherwise look into a marine supply outfit. Tons of really nice robust waterproof switches out there made for boat use.

I am reasonably certain that John Deere's OEM switches (at least on my 4310) are made by Carling Technologies, the Contura XI line. The switches are rated for 20 amps at 4-14 VDC. I'm looking at adding some extra rear work lights and have been investigating this also.
Carling Tech switches are available from RS Electronics.

When I did the cruise upgrade, I ended up with several extra switches. They were rated at 20A. Your dealer might have some laying around, with proper motivation, a tech might find you one... Or, you can upgrade your cruise and count the savings of buying a switch, I doubt these are cheap...

Added lights to my 4520 used a switch which is used on the gators . Switch number AM117324 $7.28 and it fit perfectly.

Although the price went up a bit (around $9.00) the gator switch fits great. I bought one to try and will by more to fill the holes on my 3520. You never know when you may need a switch to add something else. When you pay over $20,000 for anything, $18.00 ain't bad. I'm thinking about placing a cigarette lighter plug next to the cup holder while i have that switch panel off.

The plug is easier to remove when you have the panal loose, which on mine is 2 metric bolts & 2 philps screws. The cigarette lighter would be a good idea.

the metric bolts are 10mm. while i had my panel off i added two marine type cigarette lighter plugs. the attached pic has the two plugs and the gator switch. there are also switches from boat shops that will work and have lighted inserts.

it is best to remove the panel before removing the switch plugs to aviod damaging the soft plastic panel.

Thanks for the replies. Is the gator switch available from JD Parts or did you get it from a dealer? The marine cigarette lighter plugs are a very cool add on. Did you get them on line? If so, can you tell me where as I would like to order one.
Thanks...Shooter
