Tee only machines CNH use the dual pedal on is the sub-cuts and Class III Boomers & Farmalls. The others are the treadle pedal. Deere uses the dual pedal on all their hyrdros, not just some.

( I'm not sure where you guys get you information from but the tires are the same size. Fronts: 18 x 8.5, Rears: 26 x 12.0)

The John Deere 2210 has 10" front wheels, the Kubota BX2230 has 8" front wheels. I think you better double check your info.

Ken.

I guess you don't know what the numbers on the tires actually mean, so I'll be happy to explain. The
first number (18/8.5-10) is the approximate height, the second number (18/8.5-10) is the width, and the third number (18/8.5-10) is the rim size. One having an 8" diameter rim vs a 10" is really a non issue. Actually the 8" rim will give you a taller sidewall which will produce a smoother ride at proper tire pressure. The actual physical size of the tire is the same, 18" tall by 8.5" wide. Both tires are typically 4 ply tires as well so the load rating will be the same(will vary by brand). So there ya go, the tires are indeed the same "size". Therefore no need for me to check my info.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

OK, I'll say it. I like John Deere better. Grew up with Green and would probably not own anything else!

That being said, I really do like my 2210 and not just because it's green. And if I needed a backhoe I would have certainly looked hard at a BX.

Ahh Fred how nice to hear you like JD just because you do! The 2210 is indeed a nice machine; I'm sure you're enjoying it, and after all that's what really matters!

From where I see it, the two are pretty evenly matched. I looked at both. Both I believe are good machines, I didn't really care about the tires.
I went and talked to both dealers and tested both. I thought the JD had a better dealer and the 2210 fit me better. I do like green better than orange. But, actually I like red better, but, color is not the only thing.
Try them both, see which one fits YOU better, which dealer YOU like better.
The JD has a tach, Kubota doesn't, but, the Kubota has a temp gauge and the 2210 doesn't.
I will agree the JD loader and MMM are easy to remove and install, didn't know that until after purchase, never even thought about it.
I now have 150 plus hours on the 2210, don't regret anything about my purchase, except, wish I would have bought everything at once, instead of implement here and there.

No offense to anybody, just my $.02

I like Deere better, too. Mostly becasue of the dealer who has sold me 3 machines over the years.

You guys have forgotten to differentiate the 3PH dimensions and specs between the two brands. I don't have my spec sheets in front of me, so I will let you numbers hawks do it properly /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Hmmm..something else about the loader and front tires, but I can't recall. Hmmm....

To be honest - Deere is a religion in our family (that and the Green Bay Packers) - given that, I'd probably be kicked out if I didn't get a Deere.

I think there are number of issues - price, availability of service/parts, etc. In the long run it's what you feel the most comfortable with as both the Deere and Kubota's are quality machines that you'll get many hours of use from. I suggest test driving, comparing the budgetary upside on both (including cost of implements), etc. and then going from there. I have a former boss (and good friend) who chose to go with the Kubota due to a lack of good dealers in his area that would service and sell Deere, but he considered it an equal when he looked at both (price aside).

Good luck!

I'd like to emphasize the dealer portion of the sale. Granted I was looking for a larger machine, when I was doing my calling to get prices and a feel for the dealer, the Deere dealer acted like he didn't have time for me. Thus, I didn't get to really check out the Deere. I'm not saying anything bad about Deere, but the dealers in my area didn't have time for me so I went orange. I imagine all colors have dealers that are worthless and it depends on your area. A good dealer could save you a lot of money down the road.

I totally agree with KubotaSteve. The dealer is such a huge part of the package. For me it was a bit of a no brainer. My JD store is 2.5miles from me, the dealer buys all his vehicles from me, and his service is sufficient. Kubota on the other hand is run by a man who knows only how to sell on price. A real lowballer. He is rude, perverted and has the I.Q of a garden hose.
The product however is fine. Kubota has been building excellent stuff for many years. I know when they came out with the BX, Deere had no answer till the 2210. Both companies have great resale and parts availibility.
Just don't get tempted by all the junk out there like Jinma and Benya.
