NO DIFFERENCE IN QUAILITY.QUIT LETTING SCARE TACTICS BY BIG COMPANY PROPAGANDA STATEMENTS WORK IN CONTROLLING YOUR WALLET
Even if someone dismisses the comments about safety and quality as 'scare tactics', the issues of a factory warranty and dealer support are not 'scare tactics'. If someone wants to forego them in an effort to save money, then buy a gray market tractor. Gray market tractors are cheaper for a reason. It also has nothing to do with liking or not liking someone or what they say (although how something is said might offend people).

The reason there were issues with the other thread about Deere tractors from India is the guy was not trying to simply inform people on TBN about a cheaper source for JD tractors, i.e., the gray market. The guy was trying to use TBN for free advertising, a violation of TBN's Terms of Service.

You can rest assured(sleep soundly) in the fact that there IS a quality difference between goods made in China and other places. When a person is paid/judged by the quantity of his work rather than the quality, well, most people can think this through. There are numerous other factors. Each of which makes a difference. Go pick up a Chinese( or other 3rd world country) made SKS and compare to almost any other gun at a gunshow. It doesnt' take trained eyes to tell the difference.

I think you need to check your facts and I am sure others will chime in. Most of them are built in Georgia.

Until now, I didn't know my JD820 that was built in Mannheim, Germany was a gray market tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I do know it's given me 1200+ hours of reliable service in the 12 years that I've owned it, as I'm sure it did for the owners who logged the first 4200 hrs on it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I also know that I've never had a problem getting either maintenance or repair parts for it (other than the $$ they cost!) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I also never felt unsafe operating it, except for the one or two times that the operator had a brain cramp! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

So if I want to post about my 820, should I post on the JD board or the Gray Market board? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
