JD X300 cranks but doesn't start

I've put in clean fuel, replaced plugs, it starts and runs for a few seconds when I spray starter fluid in the carb. I am thinking this might be some sort of shear pin/bolt that has gone, my blades take a lot of abuse.

If anyone knows if this is the case and can point me in the right direction on replacing one, much appreciated.

Pulled carb, not too dirty but cleaned it up.

Checked fuel lines, cleaned as well as I could.

Finally cranked and running!! Just in time for rain today.
