If your budget allows the X739 would be perfect for your property. All wheel drive with HDAP tires plus 4 wheel steer, no worries about spinning tires while making turns on steep slopes while dragging that MC519 cart.

I use mine on steeper slopes than yours and have never slipped a tire even when the grass is wet, have never needed the diff lock.

That one look like a beast. I will have to go take a look at it.

20% is a 5 to 1 slope . 5 ft of run with a 1 ft rise . That tractor will handle that easy . However , that collection system is adding a bunch of weight on the tail end of things especially if getting full . They are hooked rigid to the tractor and ride on casters . If that dealer says no problem , have him come out and prove it . I would get a rake, 3pt, and drag pine needles out to a more level surface and then collect them . Just trying to spend your money , Kevin .

Thanks, I agree with the MC519 I will probably blow the leaves and needles off the steep incline, I'm assuming it could handle the 10 deg slope as long as I don't over fill. I don't tend to get that much in the from on the incline as I do in the back which is flat.

Also, I guessing I may nee to add some front weights when pulling the MC513 to help balance the load????

Don't think you need weights on the front for the 519 cart, as it rides on the caster wheels at the back.. so all the weight is either on the rear wheels or the caster wheels. Leaves are not heavy but wet, green grass can pack in pretty tight and be heavy.

I'm hoping to just mulch the grass and only pick up leaves and needles. Do you know if you can slightly raise the deck enough to just pick up the leaves/needles with out cutting the grass? We don't have clipping pickup and no place to really dump them. We usually burn the leaves and needles.

You can raise the deck.. at least as far as normal..

Nice thing about the MC519, is you can back it onto a trailer and empty the contents there.

Unless I'm off-site and picking up leaves, I can dump them in the woods nearby my lawn.

As long as you use an ounce of common sense you will have no problem with X584 on that slope. JD puts that disclaimer in there to cover itself against clowns that would drive a slope like that full speed on wet grass and turn sharply. The X584 is a mountain goat when it comes to slopes, also you will have zero problems pulling a cart full of leaves. I have used my X590 to pull a cart full of firewood up a slope at least as steep if not more, than yours, it was my neighbors yard and his Husqvarna with K66 could not make it up the hill with full cart of firewood

Thank you for the response, I'm glad to hear from someone that has expericance with a similar machine and similar conditions.

Take a look at the slope behind the tractor. I have not measured it accurately, but it is fairly steep, I think quite a bit more so than your slope.

1. Sears Craftsman / 25hp / RWD / Diff Lock / Turf Tires. Could ride along the top of the slope sideways - one pass - for most of the length and sideways on parts of the left end where it is not as steep. Could drive straight up / Back down in most areas, but if slightest dampness would spin out on the right steep portions.

2. JD 3320 O/S or JD 3320 CAB with Turf tires and MMM. Sideways on parts of the left of the slope. Drive Up and Back down anywhere on the slope in 4WD with no problems.

3. JD X739 AWS / AWD / HDAP tires. Can drive sideways anywhere on about the left half of the slope with no slip / slide. Drive one pass along the top for entire length. Drive straight Up the slope turn 180 at the top and drive straight back down. No slip / slide.

I can't speak to the X500 series, but have no doubt the X739 would handle your job without breaking a sweat.

Wow, that slope is much more aggressive than what I'm dealing with. Thanks for your input

Wow Cinder- that is a heck of a slope- the Craftsman is not in same class as a x500 series, although it has Diff lock, it is really a lawn tractor, not a garden tractor. The JD has much more torque , bigger tires, wider stance. But having said that, not sure how it would handle your slope, I would be nervous on certain parts of that slope even with a X739
