JD110 Won't turn over

My first thought is why was the engine running poorly and then just quit? Then it wouldn't turn over, could the engine be seized? I would try and turn the crank by spinning the flywheel underneath and if you can't turn it try pulling the spark plug to reduce the compression.

that's exactly what i did. i got sparks doing that... no turning over.

That is not what you said you did in your previous post. You said you grounded the starter by holding it against the engine. This is a far cry from attaching a jumper cable directly to the starter. There is a much higher chance for a poor connection holding a starter against an engine.
