I started my JD2320 this morning and it ran fine. Went away for a couple of hours and now it fires but won't run after I stop the starter. I've checked all fuses, hoses, fuel filter, etc. I have good fuel all the way to the fuel injection pump. If I shut off the fuel and keeping trying to start, it will finally run out of fuel and not fire. As soon as I turn on the fuel, after several tries, it again runs while the starter is turning but not after. There is a small spring-loaded lever on the side of the fuel injection pump. When I pull the hose off the pump outlet that normally goes to the injectors and press the lever, fuel is pushed out the outlet. Does anyone know the purpose of that lever? Is there anything else that could keep the engine from starting? In the parts catalog, there is a fuel solenoid. Not sure if it could cause this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
