JD4020 Plowing

Thought I started a thread about this but then couldn't find it, not sure what happened. So I'll do it again, sorry if it duplicates.....

Ran into this 18 year old young man plowing with a very nice JD4020 and 5 bottom plow. Doing it for the fun of it. He's plowing a small field on a large farmer friend of mine. The young man is the Son of one of their employees.

Not sure of the vintage of this tractor but I'm sure it's older than the young man's Dad.

I got some good Drone video too. Will add that when I get it edited.

And 1963 - 1972 when they were built.. a classic for Deere for sure.

Technically 4020 production was classified as beginning in '64 not '63.

Had the chance to visit a big operation a few years back. Couple thousand acres, million dollar machines, the works. Amazing! The farmer told me if he ever goes broke the only piece of equipment on the entire farm he wouldn’t let them take was his 4020.

Not sure what happened the first time.....

A pre-side console 4020 (which this one is) would be vintage 1964-1968 inclusive.

Got a neighbor that uses a 4020 almost daily. Mostly cutting, raking and bailing. Don't think he plows much of anything any more. Also has a 2020.
