Tractor steers very hard even when rpms are up to 2500. I connected a pressure gauge to the left and then to the right steering lines and preform the test as indicated in the tech manual by turning the steering wheel in the proper direction for each side and the output pressure in both were between 1400-1500psi as recomended by the manual. To me this would indicate that there is probably internal leaking within the cylinder making it hard to steer. Looking for confirmation to whether or not this ia a correct diagnosis or if I need to do some other testing prior to replacing the steer cylinder.

Thanks

With the pressure gauge connected to the outlet from the steering cylinder check the pressure. That is the opposite of what you just did. If you have an internal leak in the cylinder you MIGHT see pressure in the return side. Not sure what kind of pressure you will see. Then agian being the return line it may not show any pressure since it is a return to sump. Hope this helps.

Is it possible that the frt axle spindles are binding from insufficient lubrication or bad brgs?? Have you tried the steering with frt wheels raised up??

I dont believe they are binding, but will give it a try. Thanks for the info as every little bit helps.
