JD4300 broken differential

I have a 2001 model 4300 with 430 loader and 48 backhoe. After just 112 hours, the rear differential broke. All teeth sheared off and will take a week or so to fix.

Is this a common occurrence? I bought this thing to fix my septic field and afterwards to have for a long time. It sure makes me feel uncomfortable that after only two months the drive train gives up on me.

Any thoughts?

My differental broke on my JD 4400 hydro with less than 175 hours, also the hydro ended up having to be replace because of the metal shavings from the differental failure. My tractor was manufacture 11/2000.
