JD445 PTO Switch Problem

I have a JD445 with a 47" snowblower that will not engage when the PTO switch is engaged. The PTO switch appears to be okay as I used a volt meter to ring out the connections. Is there a relay somewhere inline with the switch that may be bad? Does anyone have an electrical diagram of the PTO harness?

BTW - The light on the dash also does not light up.

How old is your tractor?
Do you have the RIO (reverse implement operation) system in your tractor?
If so, it could have something to do with that switch, or an adjustment for it...
If you don't have that system, I guess it could be a relay...
hoping others may ring in, I am experiencing a similar problem
with my 93 that has 750 hrs on it..

I believe the tractor is a 98! This is not mine but was given to me by my Father for the winter to snowplow my driveway. I did get the PTO working but I still believe there's an issue. It appears I need to drive forward at a slow speed before the PTO will engage. This makes no sense to me! It might be an adjustment issue with the RIO. I believe it should engage with me sitting on it when it's at a full stop. It will only engage when the tractor is moving. How does one adjust the RIO?

You are probably right... it's in the RIO switch adjustment.

See if you can slide the switch away from the bracket that engages it, I don't have that system on my tractor, but
it certainly sounds like that's all your problem is..
