JD4500 with Erskine Snowblower

This is my toy I use to clear my driveway of snow. It is an Erskine snowblower deriving its power from the rear PTO. The shaft runs the entire length of the tractor. There is a transfer case mounted on the rear of the tractor on the framerails of the snowblower which is connected to the drawbar. Very simple installation - need canopy to snow off of me when wind blows though. Minus a little thing called money. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I posted in the JD forum questions about that setup,
and was wondering how you felt the unit worked,
also yours is Yellow,, did you paint it that way?

Are you happy with ease of install and removal?
How long have you had it?

Have you tried a snowmobile helmet? I find that is a 'cheap' alternative to a cab, and better than nothing.

I see a couple Erskine's on eBay, one which shows the layout of the drive shaft going to the rear PTO.

As soon as I get a few minutes I'll post some of the pics I have of the rear of the tractor. They will show you how it is connected to the PTO as well as the drawbar. I believe I have some pics of how it mounts on the fronts too.

It came the color the yellow. I did not paint it. However, this summer it will have a visit to my paint booth.
