JD 4700
I posted the following information under the "New Owner
of TC45D" thread in the Buying a For/NH forum.

I noticed in the other 5105 thread that 521 loaders might
be a problem. So far two dealers are pricing out the 521 on a 5105 MFWD.

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm just starting to go down the road of pricing so this really helps. I've visited two JD dealers and have one more to visit. My next stop is to see a New Holland dealer. So I can start comparing features. It seems like the only stick the customer has in the tractor buying game is playing the brands off each other. We sure as heck don't have list prices to compare... 8-(

I need to go back to the JD dealer and price out a 4600 for comparisons but here is what I'm getting for a JD 5105.

JD5105 MFWD, SyncReverse tranny, Dual SCV, Third SCV, Folding ROPS 21,050.

The second dealer, The same tractor minus the third SCV and folding ROPs, but with telescoping links, 20,354.

www.jdlawns.com gives me 19,755 and 19,515 respectively.

A 521 FEL was priced at 3,406. A 521 with 4n1 bucket was 5,000. The plain 521 FEL was a bit cheaper from the dealer compared to jdlawns.

So it looks like the prices are fairly similar between JD and New Holland.

A JD 4600 with PowerReverse, dual/third SCV, and folding ROPS was 20,000. jdlawns pricing on the same tractor was 19,800.

The 4600 is a closer comparison between the TC45D so it looks like the price is almost identical.

Interesting!

Hope this helps...

The price for the 521 FEL appears to be good. I found that some dealers priced the joystick with the tractor and some priced it with the FEL so make sure you get this straight in your price comparisons. How much for the 3rd SCV? If you get it added later it will cost $600 - $750 so buy it now if you can. Telescoping links are about $200. Have you looked at the new 4700? Check it out at http://products.deere.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prnbr=124DLV&prmenbr=8416&PrevCatRef=8520&PrevCatcgnbr=JD@CUT&path=HO&pcat=8549. I have about 180 hours on my 5210 and have not had any problems with it.

I've sorta looked at the 4700 but it seems to be a bad buy price/performance wise. I want around 40HP at the PTO. Seems like the 5105 and 5205 is the better bang for the buck. One dealer has the 4500/4600 and 5205 on the lot. So I might be able to get a good price on the 5205.

I did not get a breakout on the prices for the Third SCV. But you are in the ball park. The dealer said it would be cheaper to do it now rather than later. Since I want a hydrolic toplink and an FEL I need the third SCV.

As I go to dealers I'm going to post the price quotes.
