Quick Price Check - JD 5105

Hi Everyone:

1st Post! Long time lurker and avid reader of the forum - I have learned so much here and many thanks in advance for your insight.

I am evaluating a 2006 John Deere 5105 MFWD (50 HP / 44 PTO) - ~1400hrs, 522 FEL, QA Bucket, 2x Remotes, JD Shredder (6' MX6) and Hydraulic Box Blade (6'). It is for sale by owner in Texas and the owner is asking in the $19k range

The tractor Blue book says the "Trade in" (for the tractor only) is $8k-$10k and "retail" is $14k-$16k.

When you add in all the attachments, the price the owner is asking seems pretty fair, but wanted to check with the experts.

Your advice is appreciated!

I'd pass on the MX6, been lot's of problems with them. Have you looked at TractorHouse or Machine Finder to check prices?

What kind of problems? How do you have lots of problems with a JD MD 6' mower, or any 6' medium duty mower for that matter.

Neighbor just bought one with quick attach and a 4052C to drive it and it looks and works like a tank.....like in military vehicles. Went over to the Bush Hog www and saw the identical mower meaning they build mowers for JD. Makes sense. Good company, heavy duty equipment, good name, survived the test of time.................
