Buying Advice JD5220. What breaks ?

I'm looking at buying a 5220, 4WD, cab with 6500 hours on the clock.
It's a single owner/operator from new and looks to be well looked after.
The price is at the top end of my budget, so I can afford any for anything major to break.

Can anyone tell me what commonly breaks on this model so I can pay extra attention to checking it's condition before buying.
Any hints / tips would be appreciated.

The most significant problem that I recall owner's of the 5000x20 series of tractors submitting here on TBN has typically been fuel delivery issues.

The line from the fuel tank, the fuel pump are prone to having problems "starving" the engine.

Poor initial design from Deere. As such, Deere has designed solutions that are available.

If you do a search on the JD Owning/Operating forum you should be able to find more specific information.

Try to check for cracked fuel lines. My 5420 had that at around 3500 hours. Its fine now I try to keep the tank 3/4 to full all the time. It does have a electric pump on it I believe.
