5320
Hi there from Australia,

New to the forum and have recently purchased a JD5320 with a 541 FEL.

Purchased second hand some six months ago and has had only <10 hours use to date by me. The dealer said they had done a service before I purchased.

It has about 4,500Hrs on it and has developed the following problems:

* Last few times using FEL I noticed it was a little slower in lifting and steering wasn't quite right

On the weekend the following occurred:

* Started tractor, lifted FEL a little and reversed out of shed
* Proceeded a few hundred meters up driveway to clean up some dirt and FEL was not working at all at times, other times moving up very slowly and jerky
* Steering the same very jerky
* At the same time these issues occurred on the weekend I was unable to get any drive to the wheels, ie clutch in, engage gear, release clutch and no movement. I had to leave the tractor where it was.

Could the lack of drive and loader issue be connected they happened the same time.

I have checked the hydraulic fluid and level appears OK, and fluid looks new.

I have read that it could be the hydraulic filter and screen that is blocked should I start there?

Also I am trying to find an operators manual, have found a technical one to help in that area.

Thanks for any assistance.
Mark

Welcome to TBN
I agree with beenthere to change hyd filter & check/clean hyd oil sump screen(key 1). You will need to drain hyd oil to check the screen. What type trans does your tractor have?

Just an update to confirm it was indeed a dirty screen. All operating as normal now.

Cheers
