1989 JD 755; JD 318
Hi all,

As everyone has been so helpful here as I searched for a used CUT, I just wanted to post info on a used 755 I have purchased.

1989 JD 755; 453 hours; turf tires, 70a loader; 60 in MMM; hydraulic front blade; ballast box.

One owner; tractor is cosmetically and mechanically a 9.9 - seriously, it looks new, other than some dust! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It has been garaged, used on a hobby farm for light loader and wagon pulling work. MOwner says mower hasn't seen 100 hours and it looks it. Tires, paint, everything is excellent, it starts aand operates 100%.

Price $12500 for all. Not sure this is a great steal, but I prefer the x55 ergonomics to the newer models, and feel confident that the machine is like new, for 7-8k less than new price.

Wanted to share this info, and would appreciate any thoughts out there.

Thanks,

AJ

aj,

I paid $16,400 for that same combination new, used it for two years, and almost sold it for exactly the same amount. I agree the 55 series were one of the most ergonomically comfortable CUT's (just look at how comfortably and easily the 4WD lever falls into your hand). As for that price, you might have overpaid a bit, but it is a testament as to how well those tractors hold their value! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Post some pics!

I was so excited yesterday when it was delivered I graded the drive, tested the mower and then removed it and went out and cleared a bunch of brush with the loader. I didn't take any pics before I got it all dirty - so as sson as it warms up I'll clean 'er up and send some pics in...

It is so nimble and easy to use, and will fit and mow every where my JD 318 did. Loader work clearing brush & small trees - easy, powerful enough for sure. I removed the ballast box to put a rear blade on, but I can see that with much loader digging the ballast box should be on for stability.

And fuel - I ran it for about 2.5 hours and barely used a gallon. Much better than the 318 or my old 8N loader tractor!

I did come inside to sleep last night, my wife thought maybe I was going to stay overnight in the barn!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll get some pics.
