JD790 vs. Ford 1920...Help?

   / JD790 vs. Ford 1920...Help? #11
Though I'll admit i may be biased towards my 1920, I'll try to be objective here.
My next door neighbor does have a jd 790... my 1920 is a physically bigger machine.

I paid 9500 for min.. 1997, 4x4 no loader, 700 tractor hours, 4 hours on new dealer installed engine.
I have loved it ever since I got it in end of 2000. Has disc'ed, mowed, pulled, seeded boxbladed.. etc... I would only trade it if I was going up to a NH2120, or a NH3010s possibly

The larger engine factor is a big deal. The neighbor uses a 5' finishing mower on his pasture ( bad idea.. ) and he can / has stalled the 790 in grass only 1 foot tall..

I'll throw my hat in the 1920 ring! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I've had mine for almost two years now, bought it used with 192Hrs, 1998 model with loader and Backhoe and 16' Trailer. I've got 12 Acres and have disced, mowed, hoed (2000' feet of trench), towed and rolled it over, stuck it in the mud etc....The general abuse that big boy toys get - And it's still ticking just fine. Easy to work on, was able to get all the manuals from NH. I can't speak for the JD, but My 1920 has done everything I've asked it too! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
