Though I'll admit i may be biased towards my 1920, I'll try to be objective here.
My next door neighbor does have a jd 790... my 1920 is a physically bigger machine.
I paid 9500 for min.. 1997, 4x4 no loader, 700 tractor hours, 4 hours on new dealer installed engine.
I have loved it ever since I got it in end of 2000. Has disc'ed, mowed, pulled, seeded boxbladed.. etc... I would only trade it if I was going up to a NH2120, or a NH3010s possibly
The larger engine factor is a big deal. The neighbor uses a 5' finishing mower on his pasture ( bad idea.. ) and he can / has stalled the 790 in grass only 1 foot tall..
