Bill, hit the link above to see answers to many of your questions. I can pick up logs without any problem at all, and with no modifications to the bucket. See attached photo. I also got to put the grader blade function to use this past fall to level the site for my pole barn and back-fill a big trench that was needed for my utilities. I liked the graderblade better than the box blade 'cuz I could work going forward. My opinion is that it's pretty effective...once you get the hang of it (as with any implement.) I'll post another photo of the grader blade in action (sort of.)

Here's the shot of using the grader blade. Also, I did keep my original bucket...just in case I ever have mega-tons of dirt loading to do. I can always switch 'em out. Let me know if I left any questions hanging.

Thanks, Bill. The thread at this point is way over my head, but it is a terrific resource to sort out the best way to go for my expected applications. With that utility, I'm surprised more aren't interested in something similar. Of course, others may need every ounce of loader capacity. I'll definitely investigate this further.
