JD's new drive train coupler

Does anyone have one of these, and how well does it work ? Having to attach the drive shaft from an attachment (like a mower deck) can be difficult. And I can't find it online, at the JD accessories or parts pages.

There sure is not much info about it yet, so you'd have to ask a dealer for pricing, availability, and compatibility...if they even know yet.

I guess I missed what keeps 1st piece of Quik-Knect on tractor pto shaft. IMHO the way the rear gauge wheel on mower is flipping from side to side the 3 pt centerlink needs lengthening a little.

Wondered the same thing.. looks like it must snap onto the PTO shaft..
Hope more info comes forth...

Would the chrome band possibly lock onto the milled groove on the PTO shaft.. yellow arrows ??

it looks like a similar design to this one, execpt i think JD is going to set it up so you
change the entire yoke on the implement driveshaft.. nothing in the JD system yet though

Just found an answer maybe, in the link

Shows where the collar on the 1st piece slides back and then forward to lock that first piece onto the PTO stub.


Discussion of this Quik Knect was last fall already.. going to check with dealer today.. prolly the 2nd part is on the expensive side needed for each PTO shaft..

Yes, please. Any info would be appreciated. Do you need to replace the locking collar on the original or does the yolk part clip on that way? Reaching over the quick hitch is a super pain to connect the PTO. I don't like the fact the yolk part is so expensive and needing one for each implement. Maybe this will cause other manufacturers to take a look.

Plus!, I wonder if it is actually that easy? All the videos you see where people are hooking up the standard PTO show them just snapping it in place, easy peasy. Nobody says anything about the weight of the PTO shaft or the attrition of holding it up, reaching around the quick hitch, spinning the yolk to get it lined up then actually getting it to connect. Makes me hurt just thinking about it.

As "we" get older, I have gone to doing some rigging to assist holding up the PTO shaft (rubber straps, blocking, bungee cords, etc.) and any other small tricks to lend a hand, as often just two are not enough.
Also, what I find helps, is having the ability to turn the PTO shaft (takes an extra hand) to align with the tractor stub.
On my 4300, the PTO in neutral allows it to slowly spin which helps to align the grooves. Newer electric PTO clutches are either engaged or stopped, so not helpful.

Thank you, glad to be here.

Yeah, I've got a newer one with electric PTO. But I have tried using the chain the bush hog came with, but it's like barbed wire and not very long. I am pretty good at rigging things I need, guess I'll do the same and rig something up to hold the shaft up. Biggest pain is reaching through or over the quick attach, cramps in side and back. Ahhh, the joys of getting older.

I talked to my local John Deere dealer about purchasing the Quik-Knect set and was told that it will not work on my MX5 mower. It will only work with the Frontier brand (RC - rotary cutter) brush mowers. Has anyone had any experience with this or can anyone else shed any light on this?
