<font color="blue">"...it has become obvious to me that website pricing is useless. I tried it and wondered why bother?..."</font>

Not altogether true, my friend. MSRP pricing is useless only for those who believe that this is indeed the price they would normally pay. But, this isn't the case. Website pricing provides a newbie shopper with some sense of MSRP on tractors and attachments. With this information, the newbie can then go comparison shopping at their favorite dealers to look for the 'best buy'. As I've previously suggested, if one can talk a dealer down at least 15% off MSRP on a tractor configuration....then this is a fair deal. If 20% or more.....then this is a very good deal. Website pricing provides the manufacturer's standard benchmark that buyers can then negotiate 'down' from. This is not much different from sticker prices auto buyers are faced with when they initially negotiate a deal on a new car or truck.

Re: JD\'s website has me confused

True enough Bob, I stand corrected. It does give one the knowledge of just what kind of a deal they struck. I was thinking more in terms of how much tractor can I afford doing internet shopping. When I checked the JD website, I really think much of the final decision comes down to price even though size/features still will play a big part. I was contrasting the L4330 from Kubota to what JD had in similar price ranges. Since I never found the JD loaders, I was a little lost on how to proceed and still have not gone back to refigure. With Kubotas internet dealers, namely Carvers or Tractorsmart, you tell them what you want and usually within the same day you get a reply from them quoting what they will sell it for. Both offer considerable discounts over any of my local dealers, even with shipping. JD's website is fun to wallow through. The inaccurate figures they publish on the site comparing the new L30 series to a comparable (roughly) Deere are in all likelyhood just a mistake on their part and is all I chalk it up to. I feel no "shame" is in order for either company. The JD video I have on the 4X10 series was certainly very fair on JD's part contrasting the differences between NH, JD and Kubota. Obvious things were left out that they did not want compared, but so what, JD's not marketing NH or Kubotas, thats for each manufactuer to do. Thanks for pointing out what really was the obvious regarding MSRP. Rat...

Re: JD\'s website has me confused

<font color="blue"> Well Said. I am actually turned off by a marketer who tries to mislead the way the Kubota site does. But marketeers are supposed to put their best "spin" forward. Caveat Emptor!

Rockyridge, interesting perspective you have, I approach it a whole lot different.

MSRP for JD 4210, eHydro, 4WD, R1's $17,569
MSRP for Kubota 3130 HST 4WD, R1's $16,370

I think a pretty good match price wise. Perhaps this is the criteria Kubota is using. Not a bad way to compare. What are you getting for your money? In this instance, value is the issue and it is up to the customer to decide that. I don't see spin, I see a comparison based on cost, whats so wrong about that? Rat...

Re: JD\'s website has me confused

As is already mentioned, I am starteng at displacement, to find similar models. Kubotas chart sets theirs up against smaller displacement units from the other brands and is always a winner. And in their specs on the JD4410, they list the wrong displacement.

You are exactly right from your standpoind about value.

But I end the same way Buyer beware: each brand should show themselves in their best light. The buyer needs to look carefully at what fits their needs.

I was using too strong of language suggesting Kubota was intentionally misleading. Sorry!
