L3010HST (Jezebel)
I did some work yesterday ripping up some stumps and doing some rough grading. I noticed a steady steam of hydraulic fluid leaking out of the FEL control box.I called MB tractor where I had purchased her on my cell phone around 7:30 this morning. I let them know that this problem occured the first day I got the machine. I recieved a call at 9:00 saying that they were on site and replacing the entire unit. I'm happy about their response time but am wondering if this has happened to anyone else who owns a L3010HST or similar tractor? Is it possible that I'm overworking the tractor? I haven't taken the tractor over 2000 RPM's.

Jason,

Don't know what others are experiencing, but my B7500 hasn't dripped a drop anywhere. I do get a little bit of dripping when I connect/disconnect/reconnect the hydraulic fittings for the FEL, but it's just a few drops that I can clean up pretty easily.

Glueguy,
MB tractor replaced the entire FEL control box so maybe the box was faulty. I lost a good deal of fluid this time. The first time it happened was about 3 hours into the intial break in the fist day I had it. I hope she's ok.

Jason, sounds to me like you just got a defective control valve. All manufacturers have a flaw get by once in awhile, so I don't get upset if they correct or replace it. I doubt that it was caused by anything you did. When I bought a new '95 B7100, the FEL cylinders were defective (slowly lowered the FEL even with the engine running) and they were all 4 replaced under warranty and no more problems.

Pete,
They replaced the control valve. I went out back and ripped up some more stumps...No problems...Yet.I hope this resolves the issue. I would like to think that the first 17 hours I've put on her were gentle. I haven't pushed her too much.I hope she's able to be pushed a little more once I bump the RPM's up.Poor girl had to have things replaced and she's only a newborn.

PS: I'm glad to hear Clementine is ok.

Jay,
Sorry to hear about your problem. I had a similar issue with the fluid leaking (Gushing more like it) from the hydro filter. I did learn here that there is a new part number for that filter. (Old Pn 32701-37950, NEW TA240-59900, if I copied it down right). After service, I have had no problems and I have been working with the FEL and Gannon Box blade hard. Although from the temperature gauge, the tractor seems to think I'm out for a Sunday drive!

I guess the moral of the story is that everything should be OK. No need to obsess on the past. You have a very good tractor that will last a good long time, it just had one teething problem.

Keep the faith!

I have the 3410HST and it now has apx 25 hours on her and I have been using it hard. Now leaks, grunts or groans so far. Sounds like you just had a bad part on her.

John,
Thanks for the reassuring words. I was just unsure if I was causing the problem, There was a faulty part, or it was just a fluke. I know that I payed for the dependability of Kubota tractors much like I payed a little extra for a toyota truck. I feel much better now that I was out with her last night ripping stumps up.Thanks
Jason
