Well, it has been a long time coming... and saving. I had to prioritize things.

Re: Jim\'s new projects

Here is a shot of the work that I'm doing on the stream bed in the back. I moved it back about 20 feet and cleaned out a BUNCH of briars.

Here's what I pulled out today and piled up. Lots of briars and junk!

Jim

I'm curious about how you cut the path for the stream bed. I have a stream that I want to relocate slightly but I am wondering how to tackle the job. Mini hoe from the side or in the bed itself trying to cut a bed with slanted sides and a flat bottom. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Jim\'s new projects

I used the mini hoe and my bucket. the mini hoe scrapes the sides really well and I have a tooth set that fits on my bucket that helps me to flatten out the dirt.

The problem has been when I need to reach really far with my MH, I end up having to rent a back hoe because of the limited reach down a bank. Not too many cases like that though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Jim\'s new projects

Here's a pic of the rock in the creek bed. I have just started and hardly put a dent in the piles. I have about 170 feet of rock to lay down.

Re: Jim\'s new projects

There must be a better technique to getting the rock in the bucket. The stone locks together when you try to push into the pile. I found the best way is to come from under and scrape up so the stone falls into the bucket.

It's slower than digging dirt.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
