Got a Jinma Chipper this morning and fired it up for a few minutes. Boy that thing really is a beast! It just chewed up all the branches we had cleaned off of a 17' Christmas tree and a couple 2" braches too. Took them faster than I could pick them up. I didn't feed it anything even remotely approaching it's capacity. It chewed up all I fed it with no strain at all!

It has a 175 pound flywheel, and weighs 880 pounds! Belt driven from a 540 rpm pto.

There is a powered feed-roller right before the spinning blade face, about six inches wide and four or five inches in diameter with coarsley serrated blades welded along it's length. That feed drum is mounted on a vertically pivoting yoke that can pivot up and is spring-loaded downward so it will climb up over a branch that is poked at it. Once it grabs the branch, you can walk away and it will feed the whole thing at just the right feed rate.

They are a bit back tippy, so when it is off of the tractor, you want to be sure no one lets it tip back and fall on them. I think I will bolt some 4x4" pressure-treated skids to the base and run them back an extra foot lnger than the metal base to minimize this problem.

I will never be feeding this thing anything close to its capacity, because we have a wood stove and burn anything bigger than 2".

I am not particularly big on reminding people about obvious safety warnings, eye protection and the like, but it better go without saying that you don't get anywhere near this thing with loose clothing! It would make "bone-in ground round" out of you pretty fast!

Mark M,

I tried to fill in the BIO twice and apparently put too much in there. The system just dumped everything I entered and told me it had been too long. After trying twice I blew it off.

We're just north of Newberg Oregon on top of Chehelam ridge. I got my chipper from Steven Roy of Valley View Tractor & Equipment Inc. just a couple miles away.

Real nice guy, I am happy to recomend him to anyone. I am sure he'd take good care of you.

Hi Tom, I made a small wooden cart with casters to lower the chipper on when not needed.then I just roll it into a corner of my garage. For long time storage ("winter") I remove the front big feed chute and it only takes up a floor space of 40"X 40" and is easy to move if I need to. And yes the chipper was worth every penny. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hey Spiker, I was at a Homier show last week and they had the chipper marked down to $1299! I'd love to have one but I have spent all my toy money for a while!

Inspector: that's why I'm HOPPING to see one of the road shows only have to drive to the local show, though I htink they will need to set up using PONTOONS to support the tenst now! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I ahve my 3 main roads closed out due to flooding now, CR 175 SR 89 and SR 95 I'm now down to finding a back road to work! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif hopefully I can navigate them with the truck which has only 18" of water capacity or so. it may make it through 24" if it is not flowing... anyhow I dot a bunch of limbs in there so they should FLOAT /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

it ia still raining like a big dawg peeing on a car's tire too! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif plesent hill dam is at record levels not seen since 1959 and expected to crest OVER the dam!!! it is not flowing at max capacity to attempt to keep the dam intact /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

anyhow I took a look in the woods today there was 3 more big trees down form winds and soil so wet that if they hadn't fell over they would have sank 1/2 way down! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Spiker, send Yugo a pm, he has one of these chippers and really seems to like it. He can answer any questions you might have.

I bought one this past summer and have been using it quite a bit with my side business. Don't know how I got along with out one. They are a great unit for the money. Do a search for Chinese chippers or PTO chippers on this forum, you will bring up a lot of geat stuff - tips on assembly, maintenance etc. Good luck.

I just picked up my new Jinma chipper today. I took it out of the crate and have it ready for service and assembly tomorrow.

I can't wait. : )
