I have pretty much decided on a Jinma 284LE 4x4 3 cyl. standard shift. But I need all the feedback(positive or negative) that I can possibly stand. So let me have it, I'm in Arizona and the tractor is in Washington State. Oh , by the way it is coming with a loader, and backhoe. Quoted price (new) not rebuilt ,ya ready $11,000.00 to my door . Everybody here was soooo helpful before, and I look forward to your imput again.I ,if anybody remembers asked about a tractor called a "Kodiak",I dismissed that unit shortly after reading your posts right here,,Thanks in advance Scott,Prescott,,Arizona : /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Scott,
That seems like a great price... I'm guessing the freight alone is around $1,000. Is it assembled or will it arrive in a crate? Are you getting the Jinma factory loader and backhoe? and possibly most important, what kind of warranty are you getting?

Scott,
I have to second Chip's response on the dealer. I did not think it that important to consider but my early injector pump demise has pursuaded me otherwise. If I had it all to do over I would have purchased from a local dealer whom I could call on for any problems. Mine only had 8 hours on it when the injector pump broke. I have probably spent 20 hours "fixing" it and I am still not happy with it. If I had purchased locally I would have dropped the tractor off at the dealer and picked up a new one or had him repair. Remember Washington State is so far the dealer could give a XXXX about you after he has your money. In my case I bought from a dealer in FL, he was all helpful in taking my money, after the sale and during the problem he could have cared less. Yeah I saved money around $2500 by buying from FL but in hindsight I should have not concentrated so much on the deal and saving money and more on the after sales services I need.

SevenCorners,

Living in AZ like scott you dont really have alot of choices for tractors. Oh they have the big 3 here and they're here in Phoenix. When I was looking for 1 myself I came across one that was 18k but was sold before I could close the deal. After that we looked hard and the one jinma dealer there was isnt there anymore, they set up shop at there home one day and gone shortly afterwards, you cant depend on people like that.

Then off to the big 3 places, will I wont get into that but it will leave a bad taste in your mouth. And the cheapest one (NEW) didnt go under 22k with no attachments. The only alternative we had that we could afford was an out of state dealer. The sales tax more than made up for the cost of shipping and we feel we got a good deal.

As far as the problem you incountered, that was very unfortunate. I had problems with my import as well, not a Jinma mind you but an import just the same. So far I've had to replace the reverse light switch, steering cylinder, rear light assembly, work on the brake pedal, water leak at thermostat. Yes I was upset about it and wished I could just take it to the dealer but I think of the money I saved. Not to mention I havent had a chance to use it yet, its sitting on my side yard in the city.

For as big as this state is you would think there would be more dealers selling tractors here, but there isnt. Where he lives there isnt a dealer close by. In this state your rather limited.

I see, I did not realize selection is limited in AZ. On East coast I take it for granted that we pretty much have available every major and minor retailer jammed packed into millions of stripmalls and shopping centers.

Heres a link that might help understand what I meant by "CLOSE BY" AZ MAP . You'll notice SIERRA VISTA is about a 4hr drive, and thats from where I live, more time if you live in Prescott. Dont know how they work but if something breaks on it I dont think the new owner would like to take it down there to get it fixed, much less I dont think the mechanic would like to drive up to fix it either.

The one in Glendale I think is new cause they dont even show up in my phone book and I cant locate them in my new map. The one in Lakeside (Just south of SHOWLOW) is 4hrs northeast of me, close to my other house though. But they're on an order bases, nothing really there to look at but pictures, he mainly deals with off road type stuff (ATV'S). At any rate, still not close to Prescott.

Grumpa,
I posted the link, because I was not sure if he checked with ANY dealers in AZ, before trying a dealer in Washington state. Hopefully he has at least sat on a Jinma and is sure it is what he wants. I did not check how far they were from him, nor do I know what he would consider too far or what type of service he needs. If this is a crate purchase, and in the odd chance there is a major issue, 5-6 hours might not be too far. I was just trying to point to info that might be of use.

I didn't check to see how far they are, either.

BTW, I don't know anything about any of these AZ dealers.

Notice the list does not include The Tractor Guy in Flagstaff. He had a couple of Jinma 2840s at the Coconino County Fair a couple of weeks ago. Sells them assembled with Koyker FELs. Said he'd been in business something over a year (2,3?). 1-928-527-1049 Seriously considering doing business with him, but need a great deal more education first.

Scott is pretty close to Flagstaff if he is in Prescott. I lived on a cattle ranch near Yarnell most of my youth. Even Tucson is not to far to drive when you are considering spending this type of money. At least if just to drive one and see how it feels.

Be careful!
