At 50 I am having a hard time touching my toes.
This is what I felt like I was trying to do every time I needed to set the parking brake on my Jinma 354LE.

So nothing better to do today I added an extension handle.

Attached is a before shot.

Here is a shot of the handle installed.
1/2" conduit 12" long pressed flat on one end.
Drilled two 5/16" holes and installed two 5/16" carrage bolts.

With the handle installed it is now much more eaiser to reach.
There is no interference with shifting, getting on / off the tractor, or the decompression lever.

That's a good idea, I normally use my FEL as my parking brake (because I forget to release the handle) I read where JohnS was going to wire an idiot light to remind him to release the handle before taking off.

Even with that idiot light, there has been a couple of times I have forgotten it! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif This mod might provide another visual que and be easier to set and release. I will have to check my 284 if this can be done. Another great mod! Thanks for posting.

GuglioLS,
Another great modification. Well thought out and ease of modification. My compliments to you.

Sadly, I have bad news for you. I'm 52 and it definately gets tougher. LOL /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Gee, all this time I've been mastering the art of setting it with my toe while pressing the pedal with my heel.

I like the mod, I think I'll give it a try. Did you drill the brake lever with the lever installed or removed?

The Brake Lever was drilled in place - I did not have to remove it. I did set the brake to help hold it in place while I drilled.
FYI that brake lever is made out of some pretty tough steel, it took awhile to drill through it.
