Jinma PTO stump grinder

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any information on an off brand PTO stump grinder? The prices of a name brand pto stump grinder are a lot higher than the work I have available for it. I am a small general property maintenance company and renting equipment is O.K. but can be a pain. I bought a Jinma 6" pto chipper 2 years ago and it works super for what I use it for. I talked to Graham over at Bolton and he hadn't seen a pto stump grinder made by Jinma yet. I would think it would be a good seller for Jinma, can anyone of the dealers here get Jinma to make one? The designs of these things are fairly simple. I can pick one up used for about $3K but you know how it goes buying something used. Any thoughts?

I talked to the Jinma Factory a year ago about the same thing, that I thought it would be a great seller. They said that they had no intrest at this time in making one.

I've done some searching too and as you say, the prices are way up there. If anyone has a source please post it here. I'm in the market for one. I'm actually toying with the idea of designing and building my own. It looks like there is a morket for an inexpensive one.

A reasonably priced stumb grinder would be nice at my place also. I have been playing around on the CAD program with an idea for a hydraulic stump puller. Think it might be more cost efective and easier to position and control than trying to build a grinder. My other alternative is cutting them off at ground level and boring holes in the top to accelerate rot. That sounds more labor intensive than I want as I have a lot of stumps /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Unfortunatly, many are cedar and they stick around forever...

Maybe we can get Graham, Tommy and a few other Jinma dealers to work on the factory a bit to get production rolling?

I have built 2 stump grinders, it isn't hard to do really.
I go to a local equipment sale every month and look for busted up or rusted out brush hogs, usually get them for about 25 bucks and use the gear box from the hog. First one I bought warn saw blades from a mill and stacked them 1/2 inch apart (3 of them)
The second one I built I bought a 1 inch thick steel circle from a steel supplier and drilled it and made teeth from grade 8 bolts( so they can be changed) and welded nuts on the sides for bolts for side teeth.
40 horse and under I would not use a wheel any bigger than 28 inch.
2 double acting hydraulic cylinders, one for up and down and the other for left and right. I use my 354 hydraulic's to power the cylinders.
Both will cut a stump 10 inches below ground level

Just thought I would revive an old post. I need a pto stump grinder but the cheapest I've found is $4,900. I was hoping maybe some of the Jinma dealers could coax the factory to produce one if there was enough interest here. Thanks guys.
