Jinma PTO

Does the jinma 284 have a live PTO? what I want to make sure is that I can operate the lift while the PTO is NOT turning.

Jinma's have live PTOs and hydraulics.

Tractor Barn is correct. Be sure that you don't confuse live hydraulics and live PTO. In general, if the hydraulic pump is on the engine, the tractor has "live" hydraulics that are unaffected by the PTO or clutch. If the hydraulic pump is on the rear of the tractor or in the transmission, the hydraulics only work while the clutch is "out".

So it is possible to have a tractor with live hydraulics without having live PTO. Lots of customers confuse the two because of experience with old Ford or Massey tractors where the hydraulic pump, pto, and transmission ran off the same shaft.

some of you chinese tractor owners can help here---do i need an overide clutch on the 20hp jinma, to run a bushog or finish mower?

It has live pto, with 2 stage clutch. Push the clutch in half way for gear change, all the way in for pto to disengage. You don't need an over run clutch.
