My Jinma tractor will not start. Have put a new starter in, but is not getting fuel delivery. It starts and runs fine on an ether shot, so what do I need to ckeck next? I am thinking injectors or fuel line...any advice? Anybody know of any online "how to" video sites for Jinma specifically?
Thanks
How old is the tractor - new, fairly new, old or purchased used with new past history ???? What model tractor is it ????
A couple of things that tend to be overlooked.
1) Fuel pump governor. This is attached to the fuel rack of the injector pump and is lubricated with it's own oil. If this oil level is low, old and dirty or contains water resulting in rust, the operation of the governor could very well be compromised and the end result that the "fuel rack" is in the off position resulting in no fuel delivery.
Check level, drain and flush with desiel and refill with proper lube oil (new oil ).
2) On the side of the injection pump, the shut off pull cable connects to the end of a rack that moves when the cable is pulled. Extrem positions either way, will give you either "off" and no fuel delivery, or "max. fuel delivery" in the other direction. On my tractor, this cable is secure by a little bolt with the cable going through a hole. If the cable stretches, gets loose or the bolt loosens off, the fuel rack operation can easily change. If the cable slips through there wil often be insuffucient movement for the fuel rack to move to admit fuel. Conversly, the fuel shut off may need to be given more "fuel" when starting.
Try checking screw/ bolt at fuel rack for tightness. Try starting with the fuel lever in the mid position - i.e. halfway between max fuel and min fuel, to ensure some fuel is actually capable of being delivered. Lots of people forget to move the fuel to the run position and cannot start the engine 'cos it ain't getting fuel.
If you are getting fuel at the injection pump then either the fuel rack isn't working properly or the governor is stickiing.
