I also have a Jinma 224 and it has suprising power. I pulled out some huge stumps and also bent my box scraper while dragging some trails. Cost less than an expensive lawnmower and does 10x the work.

I have a 284: want to try and move some rocks that big and a bit bigger. how about some picks of this smaller rock bolling ball thing you were talking about, I can't visualize it. (ya i know just tell the wife I asked for them so you have to go find a HUGE rock to play around with err move cause it is required lol. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif also any best method for rock chaining? just wondering as that is one thing I haven't tried to chain and drag. I've for-sure got some big ones to move! Have to finish a river crossing area first. The little bridge that is there strains it's gizzard with the tractor & back hoe, (granted that is probably up-wards of 5K lbs but I don't want to tear up the wood with a big rock!

I'm on the road for a couple of days, but as soon as I get back, I'll stage a photo with one of the bigger rocks that we moved with it.

The technique involves more rolling the rock than dragging it.

You can roll it or twist it depending on how you wrap the chain, and use a chain not a snatch cord. A snatch cord stretches and therefore stores energy which is violently released if something breaks. If the chain snaps, things just drops and you can cover the chain with a moving blanket as a dampener if you want a higher safety margin.

Good hearing from you. Hope you're doing well. I'll be on vacation in another week and I will be putting some hours on it. Have about 3/4 miles of trails I'm gonna try to level out. Then I'm going to sink some 6x6 posts after digging the holes out with the auger so I have a place to hang all the deer I get.

As promised, here's a picture of the rock moving technique using a fulcrum rock. This method allows your tractor to roll and position rocks much larger than you think. This rock was positioned with the tractor and is 6'x4'x3'. The fulcrum rock is about 200 lbs.

The technique works to flip rocks as well as spin them around.

Well now i'll have to give that a try, I've got some BIG rocks, none THAT big though! lol

Mine are mostly buried yet, so I ahve to get them dug around with the back hoe, next time it's on, i'll dig them free, though I do have one 1/2 uncovered in the creek that is about 4' long bu 30" wide depth? don't know as it is burrid and only the top edge/half is exposed, knowing my luck it is about 12' deep roflmao. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
