TC35D 4wd question

I see where you are familiar with problems regarding not being able to **** out of 4WD. My TC35D has slowly gotten to where it became harder and harder to shift out of 4WD. Yesterday, regardless of what I did, including raising the tractor with the FEL I cannot get it out of 4wd. I looked today and the lever does not appear to be bent. Can you tell me where to lubricate and try that before I call a mechanic?

Also, if it is a gear problem, God I hope not, what could be the problem and what would cause such? Thanks!!

Jinman must of helped you out a lot. Sorry to tell you he passed away last year after a battle with cancer.

My Kubota will do that at times... I spray WD40 on the shaft where it goes into the tractor and work the lever back and forth... That frees mine up...

Well luck was on my side today. After driving it a mile down the road to help a friend out, it slid out 4wd with no problem. Dang, still can't believe Jinman passed, he was a big help to me over the years. I'm sad.

Re: TC35D 4wd question

I don't have an FEL, so can't lift. The trick for me has always been to apply a slight bit of pressure to the "forward" hydro pedal such that that tractor moves just a few feet and at the same time as I raise my foot off (essentially unloading the tranny), push the 4wd level back to the 2 position. Sometimes I don't get it quite right and it takes a couple of times, but this always works. One other thing, this must be done on level ground and with wheels turned straight. Been doing this now with my TC-40D for 14 years now!

Re: TC35D 4wd question

I do the same thing djradz stated. A LITTLE forward (or backward) motion seems to relieve the front axle binding and my 33D will slip right out of FWD.
