That's true, Terry. When most people think of New York, they think of New York City. They don't realize that upstate New York is very rural, and in my opinion, one of the most beautiful areas in the country!

If you get a chance, take some pictures of your rolling hills with the sun hitting it just right{facing east, the Green Mts. & Berkshires... maybe get Boondox's ponderosa in the shot /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif}... absolutely breathtaking... when I was out by Carl's, I never took the time to take some pictures... {and my camera was in the truck!}

Great idea, John! Let's let everyone know how beautiful our area is! In the meantime, I'll go through the disks I have here, and see if I can find some picturesque shots of our beloved upstate NY. I'll lived and worked in the Rochester are for about year (1977-78) and got to know the western end of the state. That was a bad year for snow (168" if I'm not mistaken). Missed one day of work that year. Totally amazing. I also had the opportunity to do some work at West Point and visit the upper Hudson Valley. I really enjoyed that area. It is so picturesque.

I think that most people have generalized opinions of the different areas of the country. North vs south. East vs west. Everyone in the middle is ignored (sad but true). It's all relative to what you know and understand.

I think we all can say that we all live in the best part of the country. And we all live in the best country on this earth. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
