So I've read most threads regarding this .. Tractor was running fine and just shut down ..
I replaced the fuel filter and could not prime it ... It just kept pumping but no diesel would flow
injector shut off fuse blowing get as soon as I turn key .. Disconnected the thermal sensor which others have had a lot of success with but unfortunately not me ..
I have I believe isolated the problem but have no idea of a fix ..
Disconnect the power to injector solenoid and fuse doesn't blow ... Did a continuenity test on solenoid with power disconcerted and it shows continuity ??? Seems like short is in solinoid ... Also did test on solenoid by disconnecting power and running a wire direct from battery and I can hear it click ...
Any ideas on next test or fix

On priming a couple things: 1) do it with a full tank of fuel; 2) fill the filter before putting on; 3) make sure you did not lose the gasket that goes on top of the filter, it should still be up inside the were you screw the filter in; 4) watch the video below not the same tractor, but same fuel filter set-up.

Lets hope it is not the fuel solenoid, as I believe it is part of the injection pump.

Lets double check the wiring and try this. If you have a test light or can use your volt meter with the fuel solenoid disconnected put the test light/meter to the wire and connect other wire to ground and see if you blow the fuse. Maybe the wire has a break in it and is grounding out. Could also do an ohm test to find this out by connect one lead to wire that goes to the fuel solenoid and other to frame of tractor.

Not big on this idea, but you could run a wire from the battery positive side to fuel solenoid and see if you hear it click. The tech manual for my 5210 says you can do this.

The attachment might also help.

Continuity: A continuous path. A non-continuous path (i.e an open circuit) will have no current flowing, and thus won't blow fuses.

A short circuit would read as "continuity" (depending on where you measure it). The problem with a short circuit is that the path does not encounter a load (resistance / impedance)(i.e. the solenoid) sufficient enough to limit the current and the fuse blows. That is, the current is taking a "short" (circuit) path around the load on its trip from the 12V positive terminal back to the battery's negative post / tractor frame.

One cause is failed +12VDC wiring insulation (etc..) up stream of the load "shorting" to the frame; or some other inadvertent contact between the +12vdc conductors and a grounded part.

A way to test for that is: With the fuse out/open, and the hot wire disconnected from the solenoid, is there continuity between the hot wire and the frame? If so, your short is somewhere between the fuse and solenoid.

Testing the continuity of the solenoid (when disconnected) also doesn't tell you that it's working properly (limiting the current to an acceptable level). For that I think you want to measure it's impedance.
