Visit Used Tractors at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Caterpillar. and look around to get an idea what peope are asking for a specific tractor.. Then you'll know what a scam looks like... yes that is a scam. No one will sell a $12k to $19K tractor for $4,200... no one. Just flag that one and any others that are obvious scams

If this is a web find it is a scam. If it is local ask if it would be ok to give a $50 deposit for surety and tell them you need to get the serial # for loan purposes. Then take the Serial # and have it run on the NCIC data base at the police dept. I have never made it past the serial # stage on a rip off deal. The worst you could lose here is $50 dollars. The thief does not want a paper trail. If it is someone you know and trust then it may be a good deal but it has the markings of a scam.

Play with them a little. Try dragging the deal out as much as you can with out putting any money down. I agree it is a scam but I love jerking peoples chains.
And yes, that would be a good tractor to own.

A national CL search finds the exact same ads for 4110 and 4310 listed in other states

Or you can put the headline for the post into Google and see what pops up. Usually the same ad will be posted in several other states. I guess they really think someone is fool enough to send them money and then have the tractor shipped to the buyer. That's the way all of them work, they will tell you it's crated up and ready to ship, you just need to go through ebay or somesuch to pay for it so as to "protect buyer and seller". What a crock. I bet these people are all in nigeria or somewhere where there is little enforcement of internet crimes.
I like to mess with them too! If they tell me where it's at, I tell them I live only about 50 miles from there and would like to go look at it. That's when they come back and say it's all crated up at the shippers. Now who in their right mind would start off selling a tractor by taking it to a shipper and having it crated up???? I's because they don't really have a tractor for sell. PURE SCAM. Flag it and move on!

Don't purchase it online, sounds like scam. I emailed about a Kubota L48 on Craigs list, listed locally, asked where so I could take a look at it. $4000 sounded to good to be true but you never know?? Oh Yes, purchase through ebay will ship from Las Vegas. Husband died 2 months ago & so on. SCAM!
