Kensnelling;
I like Okies after spending 2 years in Tulsa (1970) while going to "Spartan School of Aeronautics" to obtain a federal (FAA) licesnse to work of airplanes.
That year in Tulsa I bought a 1949 Ford Coupe. I still have it (no-rust).
Then drove that 49 From Tulsa to Michigan burning only one quart of oil.
Okies are OK...........
NOTE: The trans fluid I drained from my John Deere 140's hydo-trans looks like a strawberry milkshake. After one week in a container the (fulid/water/oil?) hasen't separated. Reservicing took about 4 1/2 gts. of TYPE "F" tranny fluid.

:welcome: to the forum.
Your Deere dealer will know which tranny fluid for the 140. Likely are improved oils as compared to 40 yrs ago oils.
