John Deere 1026 need help putting on mower deck...

I don't know what I am doing wrong, I didn't have this much trouble last year. When I go to connect my deck the shaft don't go completely on, the back pins are about 1/2" short from being fully seated but the front draft link is in as far as it will go. Any ideas what the problem might be?

So I just went back out to try it again very frustrated with it, and this time the rear pins were seated but then when I went to lift it up the deck does not come up even and falls off the shaft!
