Do what Tramustang said and jumper the wires.
Rousch, You do not have to hold the button up the entire time you're backing up, just pull and release before you step on the reverse pedal. It's really not a big deal.

Put a wedge under switch when you start to mow,just make sure it is lifted to the upper height , and all the rio is removed till you take the wedge out. Not only does it keep mower running in rev saves wear and tear of pto solenoid.

You just have to pull on the yellow engagement knob for a few seconds while backing. It mows fine. BJ

Those are the instructions in my 1025 owner's manual. Now I understand what they're talking about.

My bush hog works in reverse without my having to touch the PTO switch.

1026r whining noise very loud just stared after 28 hours on it and wont go away hot or cold. It is very quit when using hydronics. If this noise was there when I looked at the tractor I would never had bought it. Does anyone know how to get rid of this noise it is actually embarrassing, my neighbors say what's wrong with your tractor it's brand new and sounds horrible . Please help.
