I was wondering if anyone knows about jd 72" mower decks. I recently found a belly mower hardware kit for 72 mower deck for $100. Will any of the john deere 72 decks work. I know it's compatible for all the 70 series and the 55. Will the decks for the newer 3000 3320 3520 etc. Or how about 4000 series 4300 4410 4600.

That I don't. I bought all the hardware from a guy that didn't know what he had. All brand new never used just at least 16 years old. Now I'm looking for a mower deck that will work. I didn't know if gear boxes are different or located in different area.

Here's the 72" that goes onto my 1070. There are several considerations for brackets, depending on what tires you have. I have the large ag tread size. That requires the longer drop bracket that hangs off the front, and the larger "pork chops" that bolt onto the main frame. This mower uses a 3:1 reduction gearbox for use with the mid-pto. There are also kits for using a back feed prop shaft to a 1:1 gearbox off the rear pto if that's the way you want to go.
Yes, the covers have been removed to show the underneath. There are also two hinge brackets that get added to the 3 point arms to pull up the mower via some long pull rods. I have all the stuff for a 1070 mid-pto drive (including the deck) that I don't use anymore. I'm in central Michigan.

Well central Michigan is a little far for my taste buds at this put. But you never know. I have seen decks on Craigslist around here in the past but they were for 4310 and 4400 . I knew I needed the right mount and linkages. Over the weekend I found that for sale for $100. All brand new not a scratch on any of it. BUT no deck. The local dealer has a 72" I think they call it a 7 iron. Didn't know if it's something to think about or do spend my time looking for the older model.
I'm only going to use it on mowing the road ditches. I saw the mount for what I thought was cheap. Being that it was for the 70 model tractor and never had been used. I can always just buy a 3 pt finish mower for cheap.

There is a neighbor a few miles from here (Black Earth, WI) that I think has a belly mower deck off of a JD 4300. Sounds like that is not the size you are looking for, but will let you decide. A while back it was listed for $600 on CL, but near as I can tell he still has it.
