John Deere 110 vs Kubota M59

   / John Deere 110 vs Kubota M59 #51
I'm very pleased with my M59. I've operated the 110, The M59 has a lot more power in the hoe and loader. The 110 can just barely feed my 550 dump but the M59 can reach with reach to spare. I like the swivel seat opposed to the flip over. I like the 6 range hydro, makes loader work faster with the flip of a column located lever. Oh, did mention how much I like the reach of the hoe:D

Lets be fair , compare a m59 to a john deere 310js industral , you can't. The 110 is 43 hp. and the m59 is 60. That's the way it goes.:D

The M59 simply said is a bigger more capable machine. I was leaning towards one before I went and looked at them and then once I got the feel of it to a 110 and the price difference it just wasn't worth it. I need something to get through the woods but still with plenty of power. Plus I found that the rocker on the M59 wasn't very productive for me. Sure I could have gotten used to it but I have had a JD twin touch for over 12 years now and it's "wired" into me. Also I didn't realize the size of the M59 - seemed a lot bigger, if I wanted that size I would do as mguitas mentioned and get a full size TLB such as a 310 - which a 110 or M59 wouldn't dare compare.

Your M59 sure is a nice machine though!

Yep... very nice TLB!

If Deere doesn't come out with a replacement machine for the 110 - I might be looking very seriously at the M59 in a few years.

That was JD's downfall, I really wanted a JD 60D mini-X but with my 2000 JD 4700 getting old I also needed a reliable tractor (I have about a dozen attachments). I needed something that could easily feed my small dumptruck and also be a tractor. I think the M59 has more in common with the 110 than a 310. Kubota made a TLB that could be a tractor and also be towed with a Landscape type truck. I know, I probably could tow a 310 with my 550 but it would be maxed doing it. Also hard to find a 310 new for what I paid for the M59.

Ok, so I thought I'd give an update on to what was going on. I looked at my schedule for today last night and saw I'd be in the office late so I knew with little chance of being able to call today I emailed them. No response. So I called when I got home and I was too late, they were closed. Tomorrows schedule looks about the same though so if he won't email me back I'll have have to wait until wednesday to get ahold of him.

This too was one of the reasons I was looking at the M59's. I've never had problems with Deere service though so I'm confident that as soon as they aren't coming of the line they aren't servicing them in the stores. I really hope Deere will pull out something great for us though and not just cede this entire market to Kubota. I know it's a small market but I always want competition as it just makes everyones products better. I'd really like an entire line of compact TLB's like Kubota has but that's just wishful thinking.

What kind of trailer do you guys tow your 110's with? I went out and looked at the specs of my trailer just to make sure and it says a max capacity of around 5500 pounds. I bought it a couple years ago to tow my 3120 around and my big red wagon which don't even come close to that but when I bought I was told that the GVRW was 7000lb - which I though meant haul 7000lb. Now with the possibility of getting this 110 does it mean I'll need a new trailer too?

One of the reasons I bought Now. I think the M59's price is going to rise until someone comes out with a comparable competition.

No question you are going to need a new trailer, I think the 110 weights in at about 7200 lbs. You will need a trailer that can easily carry 8000 plus the weight of the trailer itself.

Your exactly right on your first point. M59's price is going to raise until there's competition and all of a sudden someone with something better is going to swoop in with a better (new, more features) offering and put Kubota back on their heels. Happens all the time and surprised that they still can't figure it out to not keep raising the price and creating the demand for a new product and keep your monopoly but what do I know?

That's what I was afraid of. Really don't need a couple thousand more to go to a trailer right after getting a new tractor. I will only be trailering it a couple times a year though so would anyone know how much you can rent a trailer that would haul it would be. I take it back and forth between my places often. Luckily the two most often are about 1/2 mile down the road so I can drive it but the other is about 2 hours on the expressway and that is where it is needed most.

How much would a machine rental place want for a 8-10k trailer for a weekend? I assume you can rent a trailer, never done it before - correct me if I'm wrong.
