John Deere 152 lawn vacuum

Anyone ever mess with one of these? Picked it up today. Cleaned the carb and it runs pretty well, but doesn't seem to have a ton of suction even from the side hose when I connect that. Any ideas? Sources for a manual and parts would be awesome too. What is the value of this thing? It's not rusted out inside most of the paint is still there.

I'm thinking that you would need to make sure that the engine is running at the suggested RPM for the vacuum to be correct.

OK big mistake on my part, I assumed that user manuals would be free, not so from this place.

I figured out the suction issue, I am an idiot. When using the hose on the side, you have a flapper door on the bottom that needs closed. Sucks like a champ! The impeller has a little wear on it on the middle of the vanes. I believe it is cast aluminum. Think a machine shop could weld it back up and grind it back to normal?

I did find a user manual for free, just not a parts manual or a service manual.

It has a Walbro carburetor on it. I cleaned it up and it runs pretty good. I would like a manual so I can check the valve clearances etc.

Right, did you find the part(s) you were looking for? Probably the blower fan will be hard to find, but the impeller for the 152 is part #AET10770 .

Yeah, its a little over 600 bucks. That's why I want to have it repaired if it needs it. I plan on getting it running a bit better and testing it before I do to much else to it.

Blower fan? You mean the whole assembly?

Can you tell us what engine is on the unit ?

The link that beenthere posted shows it to be a KOHLER M18S ENGINE.

If you can identify the engine, most likely someone will have the service manual for it.

I want to say it's the original engine but there are no decals or stickers or anything on it

OK by looking at photos on the internet of the KOHLER M18S ENGINE and comparing it to the photo you posted, your engine definitely is the M18S.
