While mowing as you accelerate the lawn mower starts jerking. This happens when it is under strain and either in 2 or 4 wheel drive. You have to almost stop for it to stop jerking. it seems to be ok going very slow but at moderate speed it is not smooth.

Could use more information about the history as you know it. Age, maintenance, your experience with it over the years, etc.

Have dealer nearby, have service tech manual, ??

Does the problem you are experiencing happen on level ground, or going up or down a hill?

This mower is only a year old. It happens on any type of ground. When you are mowing at a slow rate and increase the speed, is the time it does it most. It just starts to jerk and jump until you have to really slow down. It almost feels like your foot is bouncing on the gas petal.

Did it accelerate smoothly up until recently? Fluid level correct? On my 1570 I need to run the engine for 30 seconds before shutting it off to check the hydro fluid level.

With the unit turned off I would remove the service cover and watch the linkage while you press the forward/backward pedals. Maybe there is something wedged in there affecting the movement. The pedal and linkage movement should be smooth.
