John Deere 170 , starts but stops after 30 seconds

Seen alot of brigs carbs with sticky float needles that exhibit the same symptoms.. IE.. fuel starvation.. a lil trickles thru to fill the bowl.. but exhausts quickly without enough flow to replenish the bowl..

I got a older john deere 170. The Engine is kawasaki. Im not sure 16 or 17 hp. I got a problem with the carburetor. I dont know how many turns ( screw) the fuel would go and air. Example 1 turn, 2 turns... And the air, its next to the fuel. Please let me know. I also have a Scotts ( john Deere) . A 17 hp intek Engine. . I have the Same problem.
