I am looking at buying a 24t baler. The guy says about every 500 bales it breaks the shear pin. he said you spin it back and put a new one in and you are good for another 500 or so. He said he talked to some mechanics awhile back and they all told him it was a common thing with these. Anyone know if this is true or is something wrong with it? Aslo I see alot of 14t around and not many 24t. What is the difference and is one better then the other? Thanks

There's a number of very informative threads on your questions in the Ag forum - here on TBN.

I believe the original poster was flusher. Here ya go --http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-ag-tractors/148889-jd-balers-14t-24t-214t.html

Good luck,
