John Deere 301A Removal of Differential and Axle

I have a 301A and need to remove the parts to access the differential. Tires are off, undid the bolts to the hub axle to try to access the Rear End. We have busted gears in the rear end and need to access this area. Also the differential lock is jammed (siezed). Does anyone know why, with the bolts removed, we would still be having trouble getting the hub off? Any advise on the Differential issue?

PS the transmission looks in good condition.

If you're trying to remove rear axle housings with axles once all 12 bolts are removed the only thing holding axle housing to diff case is dowel pins(parts key 12) and gasket sealer.

Thanks Jim. We have the bolts out and can not get it to separate. Is it necessary to heat axle to get it to separate? We put a lot of weight on it to try to get it to separate and it will not split. Any further suggestions? Is there any other bolts or mechanisms that hold it together?

no heat required. Are you 100% positive all bolts have been removed?

Thanks again Jim; we just had to get more physical with it. It finally parted with the help with a chisel to help separate it. I appreciate all your feedback
