2011 john deere 3032e
Hi everybody.I was on the way to work the other day and had to stop in and get gas .While i was filling up a truck had pulled up to the pump next to me and had a 3038e on a trailer. So i asked him how he liked it .He responed that it was not his and it was the company he works for. But he did tell me he is 1 of the guys that uses it the most and does like using which is for brush cutting and finish mowing and snowblowing etc.so i asked him if he nows if they have had any proplems with it and said they have had serviced at the dealer for every thing.he said the only major proplems he can recall was a new starter and radiator.I asked him how many hours are on it and he said just shy of 5000 hours .man thats alot of hours i hope mine lasts that long

That sounds like a lot of hours for no longer than those tractors have been out. That doesn't sound right to me. That's a lot of hours for an engine that size w/ virtually no repairs, even if it is a Yanmar.

Yah it does seem like alot of hours to rack up in only 4 years if it is a 2008 model .But it is owned by a buisness so i dont know and the repairs is only what he recalls its not like its his personal machine so maybe there were more repairs done to machine that he didnt rember or doesnt know of. who knows just what he told me

Well, if you assume the following:

- it was purchased in early 2008, so 4 years old
- runs 45 weeks per year (52 weeks minus off time, maintenance, etc)
- runs 5 days a week, 8 hrs per day (don't forget they let them idle too)

That equates to 7200 hrs. So 5000 is reasonable. Its also very common with heavy equipment. Its nothing to see a late model excavator or loader with 5000 hrs on them.

Yep...unlike we residential owners' tractors, those machines in commercial use don't set around much...
5000 hours...I'm impressed!

5000 hours is impressive. What I am wondering is why they bought the 3038E and not a 3x20 tractor? If they are using it that much it would pay for itself whether they payed the premium price or not. Either way, i am impressed with the longevity of the 3E tractors.

Since it was bought for a business, no doubt it was a money decision and I doubt the buyer was too interested in bells and whistles...
