Yes chuck you could do that and it would work, one thing I would think on a little bit before hand would be your total investment in the tractor, then think about resale value. Yes the kit is kind of a lot at $850 but it is going to fit the tractor, most likely will have all the nuts, bolts and hoses you need to make it fit and work as it should, it will look nice on your tractor and add value to your tractor once you are ready to sell it. At the very least go to dealer and look at the break down of the kit see what is there, try to find a tractor that has the kit installed and look at how it came out, then ask yourself "do I want to be a hydraulic engineer or do I just want to get this done and go use my tractor". If you ask enough questions you can get a windshield wiper to work on a ducks butt, all you have to do is wire it right but why?

You say why.

Answer is, because it is logical to do so. If the pump flow can get to the log splitter, why not?

Even with half a brain you can do better than factory and learn something at the same time. .

Yea, the factory addition might look pretty, but if it does the same thing, why spend the extra money, just because you can?

Just how proud does one have to be, to be satisfied with the operation of the function.

If one can not screw a QD on a hose,for a few dollars, they don't need to be messing with hyd.
