Bummer. Sorry you are having problems. Everything sounds electrical so far. May actually all be related. The problem is finding that particular issue. These types of problems are not brand specific. Seem to be random. Hopefully they'll figure it out. Right now they are throwing parts at it hoping something will stick. Not the dealer's fault in that regard. Is the dealer's fault if they tell you they are going to do something and then don't. Try to hang in there and see where this goes. Well, actually, you don't have a choice. Unless you can convince the dealer to get you out of that particular tractor and into something different, which will cost you money in the end. Let us know how it works out.

Thanks majorwager,

Just talked to the dealer today, figure I should call him since he didn't call me back last Friday. Deere's shim trick didn't work on the relief valve, still no answer from Deere on what to do next. I might have to put the deer in the barn and saddle up the horses. Weathers getting nice and I got work to do.

Not going to be easy changing tractor models. I bought close to 30k worth of attachments for this model. The best I could do is get this one replaced.

I guess, when its good its good and when its bad, its ugly

Since you are "married" to this size tractor due to attachment purchases I'd agree, go for a replacement.

First time the dealer tries to tell me there's nothing wrong with it that would be my response. "How much to trade this one for a new one like it?"

Hopefully they'll figure it out.

Not picking on JD cause they all have problems. I recall a thread on here awhile back with hard to fix problems. It took overbearing diligence on the part of the owner to get it taken care of. After a polite waiting period it might warrant a trip to the dealer and while sitting in the Manager or Owner's office place a call to the factory representative. Speaker phone conversation involving all three of you. Request of specific timelines and responses by you. If he says he'll call back tomorrow with an answer, ask at what time you should be there? Don't let the dealer or Rep escape a group phone call.

It's a bummer to have to be like this but sometimes it's the only way. :(

Thanks for the reply ovrszd,

I think you are 100% correct, If there is one thing I cant stand is when someone says there are going to do something and dose not follow thru. I called my salesman last Monday, said he would call me back by last Friday. Still waiting for that call also.

Very sad

I agree with Ovrszd...

I also look at it this way... Your new machine is under warranty. The issues are getting addressed. As long as the dealer addresses the issues and gives me a loaner while working on the warranty issues, i wouldn't be upset. Machines from any color are bound to have some issues here and there.

But if the issues aren't being addressed or corrected, and if they're not providing you a loaner on that brand new machine, then I'd go the next step and involve the Rep.

Good luck

And most important, IMO, is to have everything written down. If not already, then recollect what has happened with dates and receipts, and what you have been told, and what the results have been. Make copies, and send letters to the dealer as well as to the dealer rep (and your lawyer!).
You need a paper trail.. and people don't like to see a paper trail as they realize this can end up in court.

This thread is a reasonable paper trail, but one with more details (dates, times, etc. ) and equipment that fits your problem tractor is good to have.
Wish you the best.. am thinking it is your dealer who is the weak link here..

I hadn't even thought about the loaner thing!!!! **** good point!!!! That will motivate the dealer to do something. Wouldn't matter if it was the same exact tractor, anything similar. Now it's costing the dealer money during the delay. Good point!!!

Tractor problems or not, I know its not fun to have them... But at least the dealer is trying......

I wouldn't say the dealer isn't trying. But,,,, the owner needs to have a class and teach his employees to not say they are goin to do things that they don't. Every person in the dealership has misled the OP. Every one.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the continuing support.

I could not agree more. I have been keeping record of every phone conversation I have had with the dealer. I'm not out to get the dealer one bit. I just want the tractor I paid for. It's not like it's used, I only have 50 hours on it. That's less than one hour a week for one year, just enough to keep the cobwebs off.

I can't imagine owning a dealership. I think the hardest part of that would be finding good young mechanics. Different generation now a days.

The dealer did return my call, like he said he would yesterday. Sounds like they are down to the last problem, steering control valve. Waiting on a response from Deere to replace. The problem with that is the weather. It's getting warmer and the valve was only giving me trouble when the temp. was below 20F

It seem like I am getting better dealer response since I posted this thread. Strange?
