John Deere 4100 Won't Start

Bucky3d has apparently the same problem with his JD 4100, so don't see a reason for not posting in the thread that has the same as a subject. Different from those who post a problem different from the subject of the thread.

Now Dave M7040, what is up with all the non-existent images ?? Can't see where it might relate to the JD 4100 problem without the images.

When I log on and look, all the material from the electrical explanation and trouble shooting sections of JD 4100 WSM are there. I cannot do any more to help so will leave it to you to find the solution. If you want a copy of the WSM send me a PM.

IDK why computer guys get excited when you post on an “Old Thread”

I’ve gotten blasted a few times on Forums too, for reviving an old thread.

I usually start reading from the first post before making any comment to make certain I understand the issues.

For a while I was puzzled why the post #1 happened a long time ago and post #9 was today by you.

Diode block is the electronic component that needs to be carefully checked with a multi meter.

This illustration is maybe not for your tractor but will give you an idea on where to look.

This is the test procedure.

Read this description of the 4100 electrical fuel control circuit very carefully.

In the simplified wiring for the fuel control, note that it includes a control module and also a diode.

After getting frustrated ( my problem compounded with chronic pain and old age) with my impression of another members questions to me, I said I would leave it to him to solve the owner's problems. I offered a copy of the WSM if he wanted it.

My free web hosting service (imgur.com) is almost full and, while I have big archive of save material, I can no longer keep up individual pages of WSM's if I decide to leave the thread.

That is what happened.
