John Deere 4105 hydraulic fluid leak FIX ! ( maybe others)

I had The same problem with my John Deere 3320. I ordered the same parts as you, however, the bracket that supports the hydraulic lines and the top link holder will not allow for the installation of the extended filler tube and yellow hydraulic filler cap. After careful evaluation, I believe the only fix is to have a 20ー fitting 61M5006 that installs where the filler cap originally was located. This would allow the extended oil two to clear supporting bracket. Any suggestions where I can find a fitting?

The fitting is the kit is an odd ball. One side is metric M33 (tractor) and the side for the extention tube is 1" or #16 ORFS male. If you could make a 45 degree fitting work, you could add to the John Deere fitting an FS6502-16-16 from Discount Hydraulic Hose. It is a 45 degree fitting with #16 ORFS female swivel on one end and #16 ORFS male on the other end. This would put your fill tube at a 45 degree angle. Or use two and you would add a "jog" to the fill tube. Be warned they are pricey about $16 each.

Hi Zebra fiv, hope all is well! Thanks for the info. While laying in bed thinking of my dear John Deere and it's pesky leak. I believe I have solved the problem. Whoever designed the extention tube thankfully made it "Stout" from steel and appears the the wall thickness may exceed a quarter inch thick. I am going to take a small piece of clothes hanger wire and bend it to the degree I need to bend the extention tube and use it as a template while I heat and bend the tube. considering the tube does not provide any structural necessity, I think it will be the least expensive and cleanest remedy. What are your thoughts?

Well, last night I thought I could heat and bend the extention tube, but after looking at it again, there's no way. The only way I see it workiing is by using a 20 degree fitting bwteen the existing one and extention tube. Do you know where i might be able to purchase one?

Is this something that could be bent with a press? Or cut at an angle and reweld. Only problem I see is that you would have to know how to position it so it will have the bend in the correct location when it is screwed on tight. Also will a bend have clearance to screw on? If not you could get a 16 ORFS male to 16 ORFS female swivel fitting. Then the swivel would allow the bend to be postioned as required and the swivel tightened.

I do not know of 20 degree fittings. Only 45 degree as posted earlier.

I have a 4105 and also had the dreaded cap fill leak. The issue I have is my tractor has the power beyond kit so no way to use it.
So I decide one last ditch effort which was use a pair of channel locks and really tighten the cap...now no more leaks

My 4300 with power beyond doesn't leak thru the cap, but it is a son of a gun to get that cap on and off. My third member holder has already been bent to give a little clearance but now that you have identified the thread I will go ahead and coble something up .....
